• Certification Details
• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
  • Job Details
  • Attends the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to provide for optimum peri-operative experience.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, instrumentation, patient safety and sterile technique.
    • Job Requirements
    • Graduate of an accredited and/or hospital approved Surgical Technician program.
    • Certification preferred.
    • Fulfilled through the educational process and documented on a skill check list which is kept current on each individual.

      • COMPETENCY: Otorhinolaryngology General/Gynecology Neurology Orthopedics Cardiovascular
      • JOB KNOWLEDGE: Principles of aseptic technique; orientation of surgical procedures; preparation, operation and care of equipment and machines; understands patient and staff safety recommendations.

        • Capable of rapid accurate reactions; concern for quality patient care; communicates and works effectively with various levels of personnel; stands and walks major portion of work schedule; moderate to heavy lifting required; exposure to cuts, burns, infection, biohazardous chemicals and x-ray
